Hi All,

See http://www.ebob42.com/training/IntraWeb.pdf for the Table of
Contents of the first PDF edition of my 143-page Delphi 2007 for Win32
Web Development courseware manual (using mainly IntraWeb but a few dozen
pages using WebSnap are included as well).
A printed edition on Lulu.com will be available around the end of this
month. I'm first adding more content, including special sections
regarding deployment (and converting application types), plus the
IntraWeb Testing Framework.

The PDF edition can be purchased from my website already for 99 Euro,
which includes 12-months of free (regular) upgrades of the PDF file and
e-mail support for the topics covered in the manual.

The book is currently written for IntraWeb 9.0.32, but will be updated
when new versions of IntraWeb 9.x are released.

Bob,

Interesting. However, by the table of contents, it seems like it may be more
like detailed explanations of all the components and properties rather than
a tutorial or how-to book. Or am I wrong?

It is a bit of both: lots of reference (of properties and events that
may not always be clear) but also some demos and example projects. No
step-by-step tutorial sections or exercises, but these may be added
later (and will appear in the PDF version, not in the printed version on
Lulu which will be published in a few weeks before the exercises are added).

I've already sold a dozen copies of the PDF file, and maybe one of the
early buyers could write a few lines to state if they like it...

I have been looking at IW from time to time over the years
but i have always found the documentation lacking and since i do not
have the time to hunt for information in all the various places this has
prevented me from adding IW to my toolbox. After having spent just a
few hours with Dr Bobs material i have now decided that it is time to
start a new project using IW.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the .pdf-version. It is very good and in
my humble oppinion well worth the price.

I think AtoZed should pay Bob a royalty to use his PDF courseware manual and
include it with every purchased license of Intraweb...

I'm open to that suggestion ;-)

In the meantime: a new edition of the PDF version has been published
earlier this week, covering the Pool Data Connection functionality and
the combination with shared data modules, among others.
It's now 162 pages and counting. I'll add TMS component coverage next.

Any "upgrade" policy for those of us who already bought the (extremely
useful) print version? :)

I'm afraid not, sorry... When a version 10 is out, I'll put a new print
edition on Lulu (but that might take a while). Right now, it would not
help if I put a new edition on Lulu, since it would still be the same
price (or slightly more if there are more pages), but not an upgrade.
That's why I explicitly mentioned the fact that the PDF on my site is
the only one with regular updates (3 so far, for the people who bought
right from the start)...
